Drifting Down the Cabbage Tree

Cabbage Tree Creek — Taigum to the local Turrbal Aborigines — is a salty waterway that enters Moreton Bay at Shorncliffe. It’s popular with kayakers and fishers, abuts the Boondall Wetlands, and is the home port of the small trawling fleet that regularly plies Moreton Bay.

Mangroves and an abundance of birdlife, plus the odd eccentric photographer, populate its mudcrabby banks.
